'BLACK SHERO' VILLAIN RECALLS PRODUCTION.

As the countdown to the relaunch of DemiTv nears, fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere of the action comedy-drama, Black Shero. We sat down with actor Patrick Purser who plays Colonel Jackson Cambridge to pick his brain on behind-the-scenes details and the inside scoop into the world of Black Shero.

What can you share about your career leading up to this moment?

PURSER: My high school didn’t offer drama or theater so I didn’t get to follow my dream at that point. Then I got a good job, opened up my own business, and settled down with a wife and kids. After focusing on that for many years, I decided to finally pursue my dream of acting and enrolled in classes, joined an agency, and took on extra work and bit parts. Then I started getting some lead roles and projects, which led me to this one in Black Shero.

What can you tell us about your character?

PURSER: He is a military man and he has some secrets. Big secrets!

What was your initial reaction upon reading the script?

PURSER: I found it to be an interesting storyline and the end of each episode would leave me in suspense.

What made you want to be a part of the project?

PURSER: I found the storytelling to be quite an interesting vision.

What was it like being on set?

PURSER: It was a blast. Everyone was friendly, encouraging, and supportive.

What was the most fun and/or difficult scene?

PURSER: Probably the one where I had the most lines. (haha)

How do you feel about the Black Shero premiere and the relaunch of DemiTv?

PURSER: I’m pretty excited. I’ve been looking forward to it because I believe in Demetrius’ vision and ideas. I think he’s onto something and I’m proud to be on the team.

What's next on the horizon for you?

PURSER: Well, I have an unfinished project called Bermuda City, a miniseries on YouTube with another producer. I also have more work with Demetrius in the near future. There are a few other possibilities in the works as well.

We then asked Black Shero executive producer Demetrius Malone about his experience working with Patrick.

MALONE: Patrick is great. Aside from being very talented, he is such a good guy. He adores his wife and family and has the respect of his community. I love that. Patrick and I have been discussing roles for the last 10 years, but things would come up. I wrote the role of Jackson with him in mind. The best people make the best villains. Jackson is the devil-lol. He is flat-out horrible, but Patrick nailed the role.

What is your most memorable moment on set with Patrick?

MALONE: Dionne’s (Black Shero) first fight scene was with Patrick. We were all a bit nervous. I knew she wasn’t going to hold back at all, but I was impressed with Patrick’s perfect balance of not handling her as if she was fragile, but still respecting her as a woman. Then they kicked one another’s ass all up and down a staircase for a couple of hours. I loved it.

BLACK SHERO will premiere on March 19th, 2023 exclusively on DemiTv.
